Awards Overview and Deadlines
Psi Beta sponsors several types of awards and scholarships for active chapters, members, and advisors.
JERRY RUDMANN RESEARCH AWARD
Students earn points on 24 items across four categories. This is auto scored by a form. Include a one-page narrative describing their work.
ANN E. GARRETT ROBINSON COLLEGE LIFE AWARD
An innovative, resourceful, and useful chapter project or program that uniquely promotes the quality of two-year college life and advances the discipline of psychology and the mission of Psi Beta.
CHAPTER COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
Recognizes an outstanding chapter-driven community service project.
STUDENT COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
Recognizes a student who led an outstanding community service project. Student submits a personal statement explaining their community service activities. Student must get a verification statement from their advisor and submit that along with their personal statement.
CHAPTER EXCELLENCE AWARD
Chapters must have completed activities that reflect each component of Psi Beta’s mission: Leadership, scholarship, community service, and research.
JOHNSON/COUSINS PSI BETA/ PSI CHI BUILDING BONDS AWARD
Awarded to a Psi Beta chapter that, in collaboration with Psi Chi members, has conducted an activity having a significant impact on the local, state, regional, and/or national level. The collaborative efforts may focus on scholarship, leadership, research, and/or community service.
JOHNSON/COUSINS PSI BETA/ PSI ALPHA BUILDING BONDS AWARD
Awarded to a Psi Beta chapter that, in collaboration with Psi Alpha members, has conducted an activity having a significant impact on the local, state, regional, and/or national level. The collaborative efforts may focus on scholarship, leadership, research, and/or community service.
VIRGINIA STAUDT SEXTON FACULTY ADVISOR AWARD
Awarded to an outstanding Psi Beta faculty advisor or set of chapter advisors who oversee and excellent chapter.
LEADERSHIP AWARD (NEW)
Awarded to student who demonstrates exceptional leadership in the field of psychology. Student submits a personal statement explaining their leadership activities. Student must get a verification statement from their advisor and submit that along with their personal statement.
