- 研究紹介:言語類型論と認知言語学を中心に言語学の研究をしている｡諸言語間で文法構造や言語使用にどのような類似点･相違点が見られるか,言語現象がどのように人間の認知ﾒｶﾆｽﾞﾑを反映しているかという問題に関心がある｡英語と日本語のﾃﾞｰﾀの他に,研究が進んでいないｱﾌﾘｶの2つの言語 ― ｴﾁｵﾋﾟｱの Sidaama 語 (Highland East Cushitic) とｳｶﾞﾝﾀﾞの Kupsapiiny 語 (Southern Nilotic) ― のﾌｨｰﾙﾄﾞﾜｰｸにより収集した談話ﾃﾞｰﾀや実験ﾃﾞｰﾀを使い,特に,因果関係･使役,空間移動,状態変化,事象統合,名詞句の構造,情報構造に関する理論的問題に取り組んでいる｡
